CELPE - the Centre for Economic and Labour Policy Evaluation of the University of Salerno - was founded in 2001 by the Department of Economics and Statistics and by the Department of Sociology and Political Sciences. In 2004, the Department of Law of Civil and Economic Rights also joined CELPE.
The aim of CELPE is to promote and support research, both theoretical and empirical, on labour economics, local economies and economic policy issues. Main research activities focus on labour market, growth and development, and on the most relevant topics related to local economies such as Local Labour Systems and industrial districts.
CELPE activities in these fields are carried out by the joint work of researchers based in the University of Salerno and in other Italian and foreign universities, and in collaboration with several public and private Institutions.
