Summer School in Development Economics

The summer workshop is intended for PhD students, post-docs and junior and senior faculty members. The aim is to provide young researchers with a detailed overview of the main methods used in empirical and theoretical research in development economics. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss and present their own research projects with leading researchers in a relaxed and open atmosphere.
Structure
The main components will be lectures and presentations by leading researchers and participants' presentations. Topics include
- Households (families, human capital and poverty)
- Finance, property rights, labor markets/institutions, farm/firm productivity
- Political economy
- Networks
Selected papers and research projects by participants will be presented and discussed during the day. We encourage all participants to submit either complete papers or detailed proposals, raising the conceptual and methodological problems that they face and that they would like to discuss. Other partecipants who do not wish to present a paper are also welcom
